APARTMENT#18

Honorable Mention
in INTERIOR DESIGN / Apartment, 2024

In this expansive 600m2 apartment, we've designed an integrated floor plan featuring large, functional rooms. The elegant monochromatic color palette enhances the ambiance, while the textured coverings add warmth and comfort to the space. The standout feature is the bar enclosed in a beautiful European oak box, which catches the eye upon entering the spacious living room. To complement the architectural style characterized by exposed concrete, we used coverings inspired by the modernist movement, such as the hydraulic tile flooring in the kitchen.

THE COBOGÓ HOUSE

Honorable Mention
in ARCHITECTURE / Housing, 2024

Rooted by the concept of biophilic design, in an extreme urban area and a sloped land, we created a unique configuration for this project. We developed a project for a house with two ground floors, which gives access to a greenish outside area evoking a sense of connection to the natural world. The two overlapping blocks, laid perpendicular to each other interact with nature, giving a sense of connection with the outside nature.

From the street, a 6m high wall made of hollow blocks can be seen, composed by the typical Brazilian COBOGÓs. After passing the entrance with COBOGÓs, the social hall is reached, a bamboo box that gives access to the bedrooms or a staircase that leads to the social area on the lower floor.

ATHOS COFFEE-TABLE

WINNER
in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design, 2014

Inspired by the mosaic panels created by the Brazilian modernist artist Athos Bulcao, this coffee-table with hidden drawers was designed with the purposes of bringing the beauty of his panels - and their bright colours and perfect shapes - into the inner space. The above inspiration was combined with a children's handcraft consisting in four matchboxes glued together to build a table for a doll house. Due to the mosaic, the table references a puzzle box. When closed, the drawers cannot be noticed.
